General features
  • Permanent joint disease due to repeated haemarthrosis
Clinical presentations
  • Usually large joints
  • Either monoarticular or oligoarticular
  • Pain
  •  Dysfunction
Key pathogenesis
  • Reactive proliferation and regeneration of chronically inflamed synovium, due to repeated hemorrhagic damage
Key morphological features
  • Synovial hyperplasia, chronic inflammation
  • Fibrosis
  • Cartilage erosion
  • Subarticular cysts
