General features
- Benign
- Diffuse (pigmented villonodular synovitis) or localized (giant cell tumor of tendon sheath)
- Usually monoarticular
- Locally aggressive
Clinical presentations
- Usually painless mass
- Partial disability of joint possible
Pathological features
- Numerous multinuclear giant cells
- Proliferating histiocytes
Treatment
- Surgery
