General features
  • Well differentiated liposarcoma with abrupt transition to dedifferentiated (high grade) morphology
  • Older adults
  • Occurs in up to 10% of well differentiated liposarcomas
  • More often retroperitoneal than superficial tumors
  • Dedifferentiated components commonly seen in recurrent or metastatic loci
  • Better prognosis that other high grade liposarcoma
Clinical presentations
  • Most common location: retroperitoneum

Markers
  • Positive for S-100
