General features
- Well differentiated liposarcoma with abrupt transition to dedifferentiated (high grade) morphology
- Older adults
- Occurs in up to 10% of well differentiated liposarcomas
- More often retroperitoneal than superficial tumors
- Dedifferentiated components commonly seen in recurrent or metastatic loci
- Better prognosis that other high grade liposarcoma
Clinical presentations
- Most common location: retroperitoneum
