General features
- Rare
- Most in ages 40-55
Clinical presentations
- Painless mass unless involving bone
- Usually deep tissue of lower extremities and trunk
Key morphological features
- Hypercellular spindle cells with dark nuclei
- Herringbone pattern
Markers
- Positive for vimentin
- Negative for S-100 (neuronal and melanocytic marker), cytokeratin (positive for epithelial cells and synovial sarcoma), muscular and histiocytic markers
Treatment
- Wide excision
- Radiation
- Chemotherapy if high grade
