General features
- Skin infection by dermatophytes
- More common in immunocompromised patients, obese individuals, patients with impaired circulation
- Prolonged moisture, poor personal hygiene
- Transmission through direct contact
Clinical features
Pathological features
- Spongiosis, acanthosis with intraepidermal neutrophils
- Perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate
- Fungal hyphae in epidermis per PAS or silver stains
Management
- Antifungal medications
