General features
- Most common pancreatic endocrine tumor
- Beta cell tumor
- Usually benign and functionally active
- More common in adults, if onset before 20, probably MEN1
Clinical presentations
- Whipple’s triad: Symptoms of hypoglycemia (stupor, confusion, loss of consciousness), glucose < 50 mg/dl, symptoms relieved by glucose or symptoms caused by fasting or exercise
- Hypoglycemia
- Elevated insulin
Pathological features
- Majority solitary, encapsulated tumor
- Local invasion or metastasis if malignant
- Solid or gyriform patterns, usually NO glands, commonly with amyloid

- Surgery
