General features
  • Most common type of primary parathyroid hyperplasia
  • Associated with MEN 1, 2A/2, but NOT MEN 2B/3
  • May be pseudoadenomatous (one gland enlarged) or occult (all glands normal size but histologically hyperplastic)
Clinical presentations
  • Hyperparathyroidism

Laboratory findings
  • High PTH
  • Hypercalcemia
Treatment
  • Surgery
