General features
  • Benign
  • Diffuse (pigmented villonodular synovitis) or localized (giant cell tumor of tendon sheath)
  • Usually monoarticular
  • Locally aggressive
Clinical presentations
  • Usually painless mass
  • Partial disability of joint possible
Pathological features
  • Numerous multinuclear giant cells
  • Proliferating histiocytes
Treatment
  • Surgery
